Innovation Execution

BD05 Creativity & Innovation
Derived LayerMML-4

Version v1.2.4

Definition

The ability to translate novel ideas into deployed products, processes, or practices, generating real change that sticks.

Poles

Each HES element is a spectrum, not a category: the Low and High poles describe how it presents at its two extremes, while the Reference marks the typical, everyday middle. The poles map variation across the range — neither end is inherently better or worse.

Low Pole

Ideas remain conceptual; no deployment or adoption.

High Pole

Runs experiments, builds prototypes, deploys, secures adoption, and stabilizes the change.

Reference

Can deploy with strong support/resources; struggles without them.

Measure

Primary: Completion rate (idea-to-deployment).
Secondary: Impact (effect size).

Measuring Methods

Implementation cases → completion proportion + impact and durability assessment.

Empirical Anchor

Innovation execution / innovation implementation; from idea to product (West, 2002); entrepreneurial execution.

Notes

Distinct from inventiveness (D067): inventiveness is mechanism design; innovation execution is organizational deployment and adoption.
